| I bought this after seeing 5 doves hanging onto my feeder and furiously flapping their wings and fighting with each other. Since then, the doves don't try at all after learning that they can't get to the seeds. Recently we had a squirrel jump on it and walk around the rim. The doors to the seeds shut as they should, and our little furry friend was not successful. We have enjoyed watching many smaller birds feed from this including cardinals, sparrows, suet, chickadees, and an occasional woodpecker. Blue jays also can hang on but I think it is a lot of work for them. You can adjust the tension on the ring to respond to weight. I had to adjust it a couple of times so that the doors shut when the doves landed on it. To sum up, excellent product and well worth the money! |

| Though pricey, this droll yankee flipper squirrel proof bird feeder is an extremely well-built, durable large bird feeder with a great design. It holds a large amount of black oil seed that lasts over a week for me. This is an fine example of getting what you pay for. Many of us will spend the price of this feeder on cheaper feeders and have them chewed through or destroyed by squirrels. My big problem was squirrels raiding feeders, knocking them down and eating all the seed that spilled out. I got the feeder for Christmas. I was gone for a week in January and fully expected the squirrels to attack and knock down the feeder. When I returned, feeder was still hanging and there was still seed in it. I do throw seed on the ground for squirrels since I want them to leave my feeders alone. |

| There are so many squirrels in our area that I had all but given up on feeding the birds. After doing some research, I decided to try this decorative bird feeder. The squirrels chewed and gnawed at this feeder on a daily basis when I first hung it up. I feared the worst, but this feeder is amazing! The squirrels have finally decided that the leftovers on the ground are better than nothing.
